What We Shall Be……….In Christ Finally we have come to our
final consideration in this series. We have looked back at the past, reviewed
the present with all the challenges it presents, and now we look forward to
what scripture has to say about ‘What we Shall Be’. Raised / Changed – 1
Corinthians 15:52 The dead in Christ will be
raised first, and the living believers will be changed. What a comfort this has
been to believers over the centuries. It is great also to know that we will all
be changed. This old body with all its shortcomings is not fit for heaven! This
change will be a major transformation as we will be like Him. It is difficult
for us to comprehend this, so let us just accept and take comfort from it. Manifested – 2 Corinthians 5:10 We must all have our lives laid
open before Christ is what this means. It is one thing to have an examination
by a doctor, but it shows a completely different picture when we are X-rayed or
MRI scanned! What is reviewed here is not only the amount and quality of our
service, but also the motives for our service. Thankfully our salvation is not
under review, as the work done to accomplish it was done perfectly at Calvary
by our Lord Jesus Christ. This review is about reward,
or lack of it as the case may be. This should be a great challenge to us all. Presented Spotless – Ephesians
5:27 Christ’s love has been shown in
the past in our redemption, and in the present by our sanctification. In the
future when the event detailed here, His love will be displayed in our
glorification. Christ Himself will present the Church, to Himself, without
spot, wrinkle, or blemish! When we look around and see the sorry state of the
Church today, with all its factions, and in fighting, it is hard to believe
that we can be presented spotless. It would be impossible for u, which is why I
am happy when I read that it is Christ Himself which will present us. He has
done the work, and paid the price……..Hallelujah what a Saviour! I trust that you have benefited from this brief look at some of the
blessings that accrue to us as believers in Christ, and that we will praise God
for ‘What We Have, and Are’, strive to be ‘What We Ought’, and look forward
with earnest anticipation to ‘What We Shall Be’. |
